Stand Strong, Stand Together

Tensions grew. Merely reading the energy of her Consul beside her Anu could tell that the balance of the pack was off. It made for an unstable gathering, and she felt the heaviness seep into her muscles. Anu was proud to be part of the pack, its members had become her family though there were only two standing among them that held true blood relation to the female. But the imbalance caused her to want to find the cause and eradicate it.

Savina spoke, and Anu forced her features to stay stoic, eyes following the beams of her alphess and into the face of the black and white hued male. Their Consul’s tone struck the follower within, but the Crimson elder remained as calm as her body allowed even in the moments of argument. The floor had been opened to the male, and he took his stand. What came forth was not the remorse that the second in command wished. Anu did not hope for it to ease her own discomfort, but for his sake.

Through his speech it was simple to see that he had no ties to the pack. His tone and his words gave way to his immediate demotion and his exile from the pack. And from what the wolfess could sense from his chosen words, he did not care about his membership among their ranks at the least. Savina need not speak, a wolf who said such things would soon see the backs of the others that called the lands of Haven Manor and Rabbit lake their home. It was a lack of respect, honor to one’s fellow pack member and – as Anu felt – a disrespect for his own being and that of his family’s.

No honor, no respect, no desire, no need, no faith in the association and gathering of their families. Why had he sought out the pack to begin with? They needn’t think of him further, for Savina spoke her ruling and with it the expulsion that Anu felt was coming. The gray and silver fey inhaled deeply, and as she exhaled she felt the release of the tension that had burdened her. Balance restored.
