The Marino would never have imagined herself as a warrior and until recently had never had the desire to be one. Recent events had taught her the value of such skills however. If she could not defend her pack, who would? That was not to say she hadn't done her part in the AniWayan conflict, but the tribespeople had held a certain advantage with their weapons and training. The Consul did not foresee any further violence breaking out between Crimson Dreams and their neighbors, but the AniWayans were not the only group in these lands that knew how to use human weapons. Savina had no intentions of being caught unprepared ever again.
Sounds of another approaching reached her ears and her eyes focused on the dark shape of a man coming into the same small clearing that she occupied. A moment of tension stiffened her body where she was not sure how the stranger would react to her, but she softened as he showed her respect. Honestly she hadn't expected such a display outside of her packlands. Certainly it was courteous to show outside leaders respect, but it was hardly something that the Italian looked for those she did not lead. "Good day to you as well," she said with a nod. The words he spoke were not her native tongue, but they were close enough that she could infer their meaning.
Emeralds caught the glint of the knife in his hand and one brow raised in curiosity. "Are you a warrior?" Could she have been so lucky as to stumble upon just the sort of help she was looking for?
