Neela simply sat quietly, staring into the unlit fireplace and ignoring the movement around her, even when Jace placed several blankets and furs over her shoulders she didn’t move. It was only once the fire had been lit that she gave any sign of life, muttering quietly, "M'sorry Jace" Neela's mental state was evident in her voice. With the anger gone, somehow forced back down into the recesses of Neela's mind, there was little to fill its place. At the moment Neela was broken and confused, her speech more akin to that of a small child than the grown woman that she was.
As though that simple sentence had drained her of all her energy Neela went back to her previous state, ignoring both the food offered to her and the gentle kneading of her hand fur from Grynn's beak. For a while Grynn continued her efforts in vain before letting out a frustrated sort, an odd sound coming from a falcon, and flying off towards Neela's main bedroom. There was a loud bang from the room and then Grynn reappeared, dragging what looked like a grey rag in her claws. The rag was heavy and the bird was flapping furiously to stay airborne but eventually she made it over to Neela, dropping the rag in front of her.
Up close it could be seen that the "rag" was actually a poorly made plushy of a wolf or some sort of canine, the stitching frayed and stuffing half gone. Neela recognised it instantly, she was the one who had made it after all when she had been house-ridden from her pregnancy. The small toy had been used by Leon throughout his childhood, eventually passing back to Neela as he outgrew it. There was an element of suppressed tears to Neela's voice as she reached one shaky hand out to touch the doll, whispering, "Leon."
