So sweet of a dream should have been sinful to her mind… and yet it was her heart that felt it was on the brink of betrayal. She had made no movements to suggest it, no lingering touch nor sensual embrace, and yet her heart felt it was not truly pure. Taint, if only a splotch upon the pristine façade had marred the purity of her heart, and such was brought by this wonderful dance… from seeing him again. She felt ashamed for experiencing this happiness in the arms of another that was not her mate. For feeling secure… happy…cared for. Even the thought made an audible break to her heart and with guilt she withdrew her hand and held the glove protectively to her chest.

But her eyes never left him. Like desperate moths to the flames they lingered and drew deeper into the sun-kissed glowing pools of light, seeking that warmth… the celestial glow of the heavenly body. And when he spoke she felt her heart hammer faster against her chest and became breathless again, and utterly drained. “I…I cannot imagine to know what the ancestors foresee from this moment onward,” she confessed in breathless tones. “But we can only be expected to walk along the paths they pave for us…however obscure.” She could not fathom if he understood her or not, but hoped her words would achieve some recognition by him. It was all she could hope for. That… and to see him again when the powers that be permitted it.

And so, the woman bowed humbly to her partner, withdrawing her hand from her chest to gentle grace his still warm palm then amble away from him completely. Though dazed from the exhilaration, her senses were still about her gathering what they would reach. And in their blind search, she found the towering form of her mate socializing with a young girl, well on his way to drunk and amusement. She said nothing as she paused in stride and caught his eye, her own then wandering over the young girl before looking again toward the entrance again. And still, with her lips silenced she departed to rest for the remainder of the night.
