A long-lost friend

He had gotten his wish at last. Io was gone. The devil bitch had finally been removed from his life and he should have been completely elated. But the man was anything but as he stared out at the ocean with an emotionless stare, his freedom had come at the price of his adopted son. Of course Io had taken Dymtr with her, her perfect son, the devil's spawn. A devil spawn for a devil woman, it fitted quite nicely. No matter of the boy's true parentage Dymtr was still a son to the Spaniard. So the Austral male had removed himself from the smaller by three family that was still left to sit and reflect on his own. Xyza had taken Io's departure hard and he feared Analise's work with her had been set back by weeks if not months.

He had arrived here before the sun had even rises to lighten the sky, the middle of the night and from that time onwards he had not moved from this spot, not even to take care of 'business' he was a stone carved from the cliffs by the ocean's fury and might. He did not feel or wonder. Itwas now at least the early afternoon and Aeron and Jandro would probably be wondering where he had gone to. Himself and golden coyote woman now got along much better without Io there to act as a friction maker, there had been a noticeable drop in the number of fights and raised voices in the time since she had gone.

He was lost within his mind so deeply that he did not notice the black woman's approach until she spoke to him. Only once her voice had cracked through his mental shell did her scent finally make itself known to him. Immediately he was struck with an odd sense of knowing, he had met her before he was sure but where he could not recall. His head tipped backwards to look up at her and a small welcomeing smile made its way to his muzzle,

"Hola senorita..."
