Coppery eyes widened in surprise as a bark met Regner's ears. Regner had been putting so much of his concentration into walking as fast as he could and ignoring the growing pain in his left leg that his normally hearing and sense of smell hadn’t alerted him to the presence of this individual. Regner's eyes narrowed aggressively for a second as he surveyed the man, loosening again when Regner comprehended the stranger's body language and the tone of his words as the stranger spoke, following up on his bark.
"No. Not unless you have medical herbs. My granddaughter is ill" The words were gruff and impatient but not aggressive. While Regner had nothing against this canine he also had little time to spend standing around talking at the moment. Regner was about to carry on walking when he stilled, a thought coming to his mind.
"Actually you may be able to help me. Do you know the way to a pack named Casa de Cavalieri?" Regner was fairly sure that he was heading the right direction but it wouldn’t hurt to double check with a local, plus a small break from walking for a minute or two would give his leg a small rest. Regenr winced as thinking about the leg brought the pain back in full and shifted his weight, putting as much onto his uninjured right leg as possible.
A sniff and a squeak caught Regner's attention as Adelle shifted in the blankets. Normally the puppy would be squirming and panting at the sight of a stranger but she was tired, travelling and illness taking their toll on her small frame and she simply lay there tiredly, gazing at the stranger with puffy yet still curious eyes, her tail weakly moving beneath the furs wrapped around her body.
