Odessa was understandable cautious as she made her way through the crowds, always thinking about the hand of Eris at her back. It was covered well, by dark tendrils of her brown mane and also by the blue plaid scarf she acquired even before her first shift. Salsola’s leaders had commanded solidly that all members that had undergone the Cotona ritual were to cover the scarifications and all were to mask their scent. The garden was of course abundant with ways to mask the latter problem. Odessa had chosen mint, using it to craft a small bar of soap and washing with it by morning. The medic did so when Imhotep had left for the morning, not wanting to be spied on, though she never suspected he ever would. And she knew Novak was hardly bold enough to consider it. The slave had stayed behind to care for the numerous felines the feline had accumulated, one, Saffron, had been a gift from Eris no less. And in turn, her own kitten was gifted to Imhotep fairly early on in its life. Though Odessa saw no reason to disallow such things as the creature was never far away from its mother as Imhotep resided with Odessa. And what’s more it was unlikely that he would ever separate himself from the accommodation, after all the pair were becoming quite close.

Pumpkin eyes darted around as Odessa led the Remy, who carried various things to trade a stock, mostly leatherwork by Novak that was now heading towards depletion, to various stalls picking up odds and ends for the clinic. The small wooden building, or at least it would be, was her pride and joy. For several weeks now all her efforts had been channelled towards this project. Already the medic had acquired a healthy amount of furs and blankets, gauze and bandages. She had gained a few extra herbs and other bits and bobs, but there was one thing she had her eyes on. A large jar of salt that sat on a table. ’How much for that?’ she asked bluntly, for she had to hold herself in situations like this. The trader gave her a cautious stare, before considering his answer and replying, ’That fancy leather there’ he answered, gesturing loosely to the item. ’Pass it over’ Odessa did so and waited for his answer. ’It’s good... This for that?’ he questioned. Odessa nodded, still rather diminutive in these trades. The merchant inspected the leather before looking up. It was patterned carefully with intertwined floral decorations and even small birds, robins to name but a single form. It looked highly complex, a high price perhaps for a jar of salt, never mind how large. Odessa reached for it as the male nudged it forward, ’Pleasure doing business with you’ he said as Odessa secured the jar onto Remy’s back. ’Y’know, there’s a corral for him over there’ he noted, gesturing to the large Hispano Breton. ’I know’ Odessa said with a gentle smile as she wheeled away.

'cause I have made it through this far in an unforgiving place
