Got a gypsy soul to blame

Foxglove allowed herself to be embraced by her sister once more, as she had on each of their meetings since her return to the lands, never initiated by her. She could never bring herself to do it, for fear of rejection. As her sister tucked the dagger in with her necklaces and allowed it to settle there, the gypsy hybrid nodded slightly. As long as Maggie liked it, that was all that mattered. The kittens, too, seemed to impress her silver sister as she lifted the ebony and ivory one. "Of course," she said softly. She had a fondness for them all, but it was the grey one that was certainly her favorite of the trio. He was the one she wanted to keep.

Once her sister had called for her leader, Foxglove felt a wash of nervousness over her entire body, a feeling of numbness spreading up her legs. Belatedly, she realized that might have something to do with the bitingly cold water she had just waded through. "Do you think she will let me stay?" the former tribal wolfdog asked, nervously patting at her face and mane, hoping she looked presentable enough to be allowed to stay. She did not want to be turned away now that she had come so far.
