Not for the first time, Magnolia seemed almost nervous now, as she had the first and second times that Foxglove had come close to the borders. Now, though, there was much more at stake, for she hoped so desperately that the leadership of the secretive pack would allow her to remain within its borders. Szellem's presence helped ease her own worries, but she did not feel very reassured by the way Maggie answered her, and she studied the ground with interest, the fur on the back of her neck rising at the approach of the dark woman.
When she looked up, her first impression was that the woman seemed so large and imposing. Her status within the pack surely helped that impression, and Foxglove was considerably small, but the feeling seemed to stem from feeling small, rather than actually being so. The dark woman looked her over briefly before turning to address only Magnolia, and the blonde hybrid averted her gaze, focusing on her mare's hooves as her sister explained. At the prompting, she reached into the bag and lifted out the small orange and cream kitten, cradling her gently in her lithe hands and presenting her to the dark woman. If she had to guess on their age, she would say they were about two months old now.
"I also have jewelry, and scarves of many different fabrics," she offered timidly, if the kitten were not enough to please the foreboding woman. A soft flutter of wings told her that her spirit guide had settled once more on her shoulder reassuringly while she awaited the passing of judgement that was coming.
