Eris is by Nat!

The shadow-furred woman made the appropriate motions and expressions as Maggie explained, her countenance giving an appearance of mild interest, but nothing more. As the ranked Salsolian spoke of a gift, however, the dark woman brightened some, her ears perking and her attention focusing more thoroughly on the blonde companion. She had been surprised to hear they were related; Eris did not think they looked very alike, but one might look at Wretch next to Pandemic and deny their status as siblings, let alone littermates.

Her hands reached eagerly for the kitten, clutching around the midsection and drawing it to rest comfortably in the crook of her arm. The woman smiled down at the little feline, though her attention returned quickly to Foxglove as the woman spoke again, offering further trinkets. The dark hybrid offered a gracious smile and shook her head. No, this darling thing will do. Perhaps the Boss might like some jewelry. There was no thanks added, but perhaps her response was sign enough of gratitude.

This is a pleasing gift, and Magnolia has served us faithfully. Is it for her sake you seek us? Closeness of family? The coyote's inquiry was pleasant enough, but in truth, Eris knew familial ties certainly did not guarantee one's ability to serve Salsola. Though she'd told Wretch to seek them out, she knew she must turn even her own daughter away -- or out -- should she prove unworthy to their pack. The coal-hued wolf had high hopes for this one, however -- if she served even three-quarters as well as Magnolia had thus far, it was a bounty to the pack.

Eris was not so direct in her inquiry; indeed, one might ponder whether the question was ad rem. Certainly, talk of skills and provisions were more important -- however, Eris wished to truly know the worth of the canine before her. She always found the more surreptitious methods of ascertaining such favorable. She had no doubt Magnolia would vouch for the pale newcomer's abilities, but this was an easily biased source, after all. Even she did not know if she could set aside family for Family.
