predated to January 21st - okay, guys! This is where we sail the ship! Big Grin we will roleplay pushing off the boat and getting it to sail out to sea; after this is achieved, this thread will be locked, and then, I'll put up a poll on where it should go, and we'll create a new thread in that area to complete the plot. it will last no longer than two days. some threads had been OOCly assumed due to lack of members - if you all still want to participate in the sail thread, it will be up shortly! post away!

They had finally done it.

Before her on the sandy beach was the boat that she had dreamed of not too long ago - it was not perfect, and did not look as beautiful or professional as the boats in the human stories and the books that they had studied, but it was theirs and, as she had Hotaru had tested not too long ago, it worked. It had taken a while to fix the flaws in this boat, to make sure that it would be safe - plug the holes by tying them over and over with ropes and vines, using clay and hardening it to seal and secure the wood, nails, hammers, everything they could find and use, they did. It did not look as beautiful as the boats in the pictures that she had studied, no, but it was theirs. They had all the time in the world to make it as beautiful as they liked, with paint, drawings, coal... like they had always done, Cercatori d'Arte. Her thoughts went to the Border Tree and she smiled.

She stared at the boat that they had created and smiled once more; her mind saw so many possibilities and opportunities with the ship that she almost couldn't comprehend it. The lands beyond the bay that they saw were now all available to her, all open to her - and that was because of the pack's work, their hard work - the work they had done together. The incident seemed so long ago now, so long ago, now shadowed by the festival, activities, and now this glorious boat which would lead their way to new ideas, new trades, new opportunities. Perhaps even new members; the number of d'Artisans had shrank quite low, and Skye, although she loved the current members like her own family, couldn't help but worry for her small pack.

But worrying wasn't for now; now, she was marveling at the creation they had built together. Not all of the members had worked on all of the parts, but little by little, each and every one of them had worked on some part to create the whole that was now before her. Now was time to see all that had worked on it to view their creation, to marvel at how it was - it wasn't the most beautiful, but it worked, it was theirs, and that was all that mattered at that moment on the beach.

No longer wishing to wait for her pack to see their creation, she tilted her head up and howled for those who had created it, and even those who simply wished to see it. Today, she had decided, would be the day that she would sail across the sea with her packmates - today would be the day that they explored new lands and today would be the day when the fruit of their labors would finally pay off.
