For Caprica! <3 Sorry it took me so long to start, lol :: Word Count → 451

Sophie waded through the crowds easily now, the feather Light had given her tied into the fur behind her ear and the bracelet she'd gotten from Hotaru clinking on her wrist. People had begun to recognize her, and moved out of her way when she approached, as she was too small to dart between their legs and jump over their feet like the other puppies there. She hadn't gotten to interact much with other puppies, despite Light's promise of there being some here, and Sophie was a little sad about that; mostly she didn't mind, though, as she was too shy to approach them on her own anyway.

Her brother, Boothe, had gone off to do his own thing today--ice fishing, she thought it was. He'd been eyeing the ones running the activity since day one, and seemed determined to learn the skill, though Sophie herself wasn't really all that interested. She preferred the arts and crafts tent, which was where she was headed just then, if only people would move just a bit faster. She was forced to pad along at the same pace as everyone else, though, and they seemed content to linger in the marketplace, pausing in front of stalls and browsing through merchandise. The small girl snorted in frustration, but was too bashful to speak up and ask them to step out of her way, so she was forced to endure the torment alongside them.

Not to say the fair wasn't exciting; she liked looking at the merchant's goods as much as any other curious puppy, but just now, she wanted to make pretty things of her own. Shifting her weight from foot to foot and prancing about like a nervous horse, Sophie gave a little whine, and wagged her tail as the woman who'd been in her way shifted forward slightly, leaving a space just slightly too small for her to squeeze through. Well, too small for Boothe, anyway; it was just right for Sophie.

The brightly colored tent containing the paints she so loved to play with quickly came into sight, and Sophie pranced forward, ducking past more people and having to pause a few more times as older folks simply stopped right in front of her, completely unaware of the impatient puppy at their feet. When she finally reached the tent, she gave a happy little howl of greeting, and dashed over to an empty space, plopping down in the area designated for painting, rather than drawing or crafting. She couldn't do either of those things, not having any hand-paws; but she could paint. And as soon as she was all set up in her chosen spot, she would do just that.
