Millions of years, where it all began

Gunnar goes in for a sweep and dodge. >.>

The battle started unexpectedly. Still, trained and battle ready, Gunnar wasn't caught off guard when the razor-fanged woman appeared before him, challanging him with a snarl. The others in his group were already dealing with other Salsola mutts. This one would be his alone, apparently. So be it.

He didn't react much at first, staring her down with a cool gaze. He wasn't worried for Terra. She'd been chosen for leader, so it was time for her to prove her worth. He wouldn't help her. He had no reason to, no loyalty to anyone in the group. The snake was his only concern at this point.

He lowered his head and returned the snarl with one of his own, a blood-chilling sound that didn't seem at all canine. Then again, it was only to be expected, considering the scarring on his throat. The scream of a roar that followed after, though, was high-pitched and loud. He lunged forward.

His aim was to knock her down, wide paws sweeping low at her legs, his body taking route to the side of her. Despite his bulk, he knew how to move quickly and his attacks had no real warning; he never looked at his target, never leaned in the direction he'd be going. Gunnar worked with misleading the enemy, trickery, and then brute force. Perhapes this snake would be a worthy opponent for the Renegade.
