They entered the designated ring and it was as if all else faded from notice. Her senses were still aware of the environment, the shifting of steps through the snow , to distant call of the local birds and the soft breaths of the sparring partners already in engaged in their bouts. But while she was aware of them, her mind did not truly see or hear them, only the emerald-eyed boy attracted her full attention.

Learned through countless engagements of the like, her first initiative was to size the boy as best as her eyes could perceive. Without stalking around his stature at a careful berth, she could not fully assess his exterior and while it felt appropriate to do so given the nature of their activity, she resisted in order to keep from looking as imposing as she knew herself to be viewed. Coming to terms with this aspect was no easy feat and often she felt awkward in deeming herself so. But Saluce had been a positive influence in adapting this role, encouraging that the obvious part of her not be concealed but tamed as he was forced to do every day. So she tipped her head mildly in acknowledgement to her partner and obliged him with an obvious forward step.

There was a fraction of an instant in which the forward limb touched the ground before its twin advanced purposefully, pushing the female into a sudden dash toward her partner. The arms once hanging relaxed by her side were up to guard her chest with the right suddenly jabbing out aimed to catch his left shoulder with the tips of her poised claws. Her mind had not fully quieted, still buzzing with reminders of her intentions; to smart and not to wound. But with the thoughts growing louder, she heard the calming voice of her Shepard filter through advising that her mind be clear and all thoughts should cease. But she resisted as best as her mind would allow, knowing just how dangerous a mind driven by instinct could be.

Sparring:

Defend: Left arm to guard chest
