Drakien had yet to return to the festival since the cougar attack. Breixo was doing better, thankfully, but the horse couldn't be ridden, and it would have to wait, anyway, as the poultice he'd made for Breixo's wounds was not nearly as good as Baba's were, and had done nothing to stop the spreading of infection--they'd merely clotted the blood and stopped his dear friend from bleeding out. So he'd gone into the higher reaches of the mountains, searching for cinnamon trees. He wasn't sure there would be any this far north, but if that were the case he'd simply return to the beach and go searching for kelp instead. Both were good for infection; he only hoped Breixo didn't gain a fever as well while he was off trying to think of all these things.

Come to think of it, perhaps looking for some fever-herbs wouldn't be such a bad idea, either.

He was skirting the edges of a pack, following his nose more than his eyes though they, too, searched the horizon and the ground before him. He'd taken his Secui form to move more quickly, with a bag slung around his neck. It had nothing in it as of yet, his clothes left back in the cave at Drifter Bay, though in his maw he carried the silver knife he'd traded Amy for. It wasn't any good for fighting, but he could use it to cut through tough stalks and shave bark off trees. He was so caught up in his search he hardly noticed as he was coming up on the dark puppy along the borders, though when he did lift his gaze, he blinked in surprise. She looked confused, the poor thing, and smelled of the pack he was skirting; most probably one of their little ones. He wondered how she'd come to be on the borders. Straining his neck a bit before he got close enough to be a threat, he nosed the bag at his throat open and dropped the knife inside, shaking himself off and coming up to her curiously.

Careful not to step over the borders, or to come close enough to be a threat--he knew well enough how protected puppies were, or should be, anyway--he gave a short bark to grab her attention, and then sat down where he was, cocking his head curiously. "You're awfully close to the borders, little one. Are you lost?"
