So we slipped behind the rainbow

"Ah, don't mind it," Merlin said after seeing that the little wolf was offended by his question, "Of course you're big enough." He tried to sound convincing, but he didn't believe a young wolf like this one should be out hunting, her brother looked larger and more well-built, probably more capable of fending for himself, but what if this young she-wolf was attack, Merlin dreaded the thought of such an innocent wolf being harmed, and shock away the thought.

He stood up, and smelt around the two wolves, trying to pick up their past trails, the cold weather had affected Merlin's scent, and these wolves didn't have a distinctive scent on them, so he would have to hope they knew where they started from, Merlin knew enough of his surroundings, so he was fairly sure he could help them in that way.

He noticed the young male wouldn't listen to him no matter what he might say, so Merlin decided to ignore him unless it was important. He turned to the young she-wolf, "So tell me, do have any idea of where you might of started your hunt?"
