Boothe wrinkled his nose at the wolf's thanks, thinking it was a bit mean for gratitude. He actually sounded fed-up to Boothe, but the boy didn't care, his nose turning away and his ears pressed back now that they were finally getting somewhere. Sophie glanced at him with a sort of pinched look on her face, but as the stranger assured them he could get them at least somewhere familiar, she brightened, her curled tail wagging over her back.
She nodded agreeably as he began to lead them off, and stumbled along after them as they moved toward the ocean, her nose twitching as she attempted to find anything familiar. They were soon on a track leading west, though Sophie didn't recognize it as the one they'd been on before; then again, she was usually up on Hamza's back, so of course things didn't look the same from the ground. She didn't voice her concerns as they continued, and soon enough it paid off, as she recognized a large rock they'd passed some time that morning.
She shared a glance with Boothe, and then wagged her tail some more, speaking up brightly, "Looks like we're going the right way! I recognize that...um...boulder?" She hesitated a moment, not quite sure if that was the right word, but then shrugged, as it didn't really concern her. It was a rock, whatever you called it.
