Saluce watched the young man for a moment as he started to speak. Nodding lightly as he recalled his own exploits at the festival. Seemed the young Stormbringer was adept at trading or sold his soul to devil, or both. Trading for a horse that was an expensive item depending on how attached the person was to the beast. Saluce probably wouldn’t ever trade of Charlemagne but if he did, he’d ask a whole lot more for him than just some animal skins and pot. Seemed that was the only stuff anyone ever had to trade and with the abundance of them it made them rather cheap. So he nodded quietly, before his question came.
“I did some trading, small stuff mostly, sharpening stones, the likes, got a beautiful Collar for X’y as an engagement gift.” He admitted without really recognizing he had spilled any beans. X’y had done a fair bit better than he had with trading, she had been so much more open to different things while he had primarily been focused on a few items.
“I heard you met my mate? What do you think of her?” he asked softly as his blues turned back to the younger male. Addressing him as a boy would be degrading him, even though he remembered the little boy he used to be. Those emerald eyes of his looking up at him expecting the world to be given to him, and the innocence to think he could have had it all. But Saul hadn’t exactly had a great childhood, his father had dropped him off at Dahlia’s doorstep, and he had never asked him why or what had happened to his mother. But being so far removed from the parents that gave you life. He understood it, having been separated from his own father for most of his life. Not having that father image made it difficult when Saluce was little, having no other example to follow than the epic deeds he had been told he had done.
