Under the bed was safe for Hadley. It was hard to reach him, and it felt better than being open and exposed. Not to mention he couldn't disturb anyone. No cuts, no slices, no waking anyone up when he bolted up from a nightmare. He had stopped screaming from them, beaten because he'd disturbed Amy's sleep, but they still sent him shaking. His eyes were closed, and he was starting to drift off when a voice reached him.
Opening his eyes Hadley withdrew slightly, looking over to where it came from. Sebastian was there, hanging upside down and looking at him. W-was g-g-g-oing to sle-ep. Was that wrong? Had he done something wrong? Hadley thought that it was okay for him to sleep now. If that was wrong he was sorry. Ears pinned back he looked up at Sebastian, wondering why. Sebastian had been going to sleep. Had he wanted Hadley to stand guard, or maybe go out and get something so he'd have it in the morning?
