OOC: shawl

Vikas found her antsy behavior amusing, comparing her temperament to his own when he was her age. There was very little Vikas had feared when he was her age, which had actually led to numerous dangerous situations. He didn't think it was such a bad thing that the girl was overly cautious. Although he had given her little time or choice to answer, the loud growling of her stomach was hard to miss. He was glad he had turned his back to her, as he didn't want her to see the chuckle and stupid smile he was trying to hide. Once they reached his room, she started poking around, but he didn't care if she touched his stuff. There was nothing particularly fancy or fragile laying around. The girl took a bite of food, although she was pretty hesitant. Vikas wished he had fresh meat for her, but he had no way of storing it just yet. He had stocked up on large parcels of jerky so he could have something to snack on during all his traveling. Once he had a permanent place to stay he could start hunting again and get real food.

Vikas sat down on the cold floor, gnawing on a piece of meat while he watched the blue-eyed pup roll around with hers. His ears shot up at the girl's small whine. He cocked his head, listening to her problem intently. The boy was incredibly relieved that the problem was something he could actually help with. He didn't know what he would have done if it was a serious problem and she started crying. Eugh. The grey male looked at her pelt and nodded. It was had slipped off to the side, giving her a disheveled appearance. It looked like the rabbit was still alive, and desperately scrabbling to stay on the girl's body. "I am an expert shifter," he assured her. Vikas stepped back, allowing plenty of room for his morph. He became more hunched over as his body grew and his limbs lengthened. The fur on his body became a shorter, more manageable length while his mane grew thicker and darker, although not in the style he usually kept his hair. It always came out rather messy just after he shifted. Vikas growled lowly to himself, the shift once again set his headache back into full swing. He sat up in a kneeling position, rubbing his temples. He left his mussed up hair as it was.

"Now, what have we got here," he murmured, reaching out to untie the knots that kept the pelt on her back. His fingers were a bit too thick and stubby for this sort of thing, but it was better than just trying to use his teeth in lupis form. He struggled to get the knot untied in the first place. Finally he got it loose, and set it back on her body properly. He wrapped the rabbit's ex-legs around her chest and waist, trying to copy the original pattern. He fit it snugly around her body, careful not to squeeze her too badly. Vikas tied the knots again, but it didn't look very secure. He let go and leaned back, inspecting his handiwork. "Eh, I'm not so sure about this," he said apologetically. The pelt itself looked warm and comfortable, but it just wouldn't stay on.

Vikas frowned, then held up a single finger to tell her to wait for a moment. He plunged into a bag to his right, tossing bits of clothes into messy piles around him. Finally he found what he was looking for. He pulled a long piece of black and red cloth out and flopped it on his lap to show it off. It was a thin cotton fabric, but beautifully designed with poppies and colorful frills scattered about. It was from his grandma, back when his family lived in Russia, but he didn't tell the young luperci that. "Here, this should help," he said, twisting the shawl into a long rope. He tied it around the wolf's belly, making a neat little bow on top with the extra length. He smiled, proud of his work this time. "There, now are you all ready to travel?" He asked happily. "Point me in the direction you came from, if you can."
