Oddly Regner found himself relying on his four-legged forms more now that he lived in a human building than he did in his younger years wandering the wilds with his pack. Much of the reasoning behind this was, as was with most of Regner's behaviour, practicality. Regner was undeniably old and was by any measure, a very heavy dog. With an injured leg and much of his weight being in his upper body Regner was plain having trouble supporting himself on two legs over long trips, the effort of trying to do so bringing an ache to his legs which in turn made it hard to keep his balance.
Secui form was much more comfortable. The more natural form stood nearly a hundred pounds lighter than Regner's Optime and was much easier to support himself in; both allowing him to spread the weight over four points rather than two and use his much stronger forearms. Still while it was much more comfortable in this form Regner's age still showed in his slow and careful gait as he picked his way through the forest, made all the more obvious by Adelle who was literally running excited rings around her grandfather, dipping in and out of his legs as he walked along.
A scent caught in Regner's nose, that of a pack member mixed with a hint of something else, and the elderly warrior diverted his course, sniffing curiously at the scent trail. His eyes widened when he caught up to the source of the scent. The dog sitting down against a tree wasn't what caused this shock, but the animal wandering nearby.
Regner had never seen a horse up close before, long off glances of merchant convoys that he never dared to approach being the sum of his experience, and the size od the animal was surprising. Ovcharka were one of, if not the, biggest breeds of canine still alive and Regner was a large and bulky example even by the breed's standards. Regner's Secui form weighed in at slightly bigger than a medium sized bear, though he weighed considerably less, and it was rather unusual for him to actually encounter a four-legged animal larger than himself.
"Greetings." Regner offered to the other dog, gazing with open curiosity at the horse. Adelle did the same by his feet, her normal excitement at meeting a new canine delayed by equal amounts of wonder and fear as she gazed at the horse, peeking her head around from behind Regner's foreleg.
