Eris is by Kiri!
It had been some days since Eris had come home to the pleasant surprise of two shifted daughters. Since then, Harrow and Artemisia were frequently seen in their Optime forms, hunkering down in Eris's ruins or following their father, absorbing all the practical knowledge he had to offer. Eris, for her part, remained in her ruins tending to Basilaris and Salvador, as well as a sulking Ataxia. Harrow was off on her own, and Artemisia sat reading in the rear lean-to, amusing herself for once. Since acquiring fingers, Artemisia had devoured the few books Salsola was in possession of.
The sound of a horse and a voice roused Eris, who stood and made her way toward the entrance of her cave. Sandalio sat above the entrance, blinking his round golden eyes at her. He looked sleepy, but even in drowsiness, his gaze was razor-sharp and frighteningly indifferent. Eris was again glad birds were the size they were; she did not think Luperci would have quite such an easy time in the world if birds were of an equal size with wolves.
Molcaxitl was moving toward her, but Eris raised a hand and shooed the slave off, having already laid eyes upon Siv and her horse. The mare was a pretty thing, and the sable-furred woman's tail wagged upon seeing it, grinning toward her Family member with a crooked smile. What a lovely animal, she declared, having no qualms with Siv any longer. She had come to trust the dark woman -- gifts and kinship had a funny way with the coal-furred Auxiliary, and her initial reservations regarding the silver-tipped woman had dissipated. What can I do for you, Siv? the woman asked. Omitl, the lynx, followed at Eris's heel, standing between the Auxiliary's legs and peering in fascination toward the horse. The cat made no move toward the equine, and Eris bent to stroke the cat behind its ears. She meowed soundlessly at her owner, mouth opening and closing, and set her gaze back on the horse immediately thereafter.
