Although Omitl was rather focused on the horse, Eris knew it to be nothing more than curiosity. Cats were sharp-minded creatures, nearly as intelligent as Luperci -- perhaps more so, in the cases of exceptionally smart cats or exceptionally stupid Luperci. Omitl was simply curious at the sight of the horse -- Eris had socialized her well with Luperci and Sandalio, but she had yet to introduce the lynx kitten to horses. Now was as good a time as any, the hybrid supposed -- there was no chance the kitten would dart forth and attack, in any case. Omitl was perceptive enough to realize when prey greatly outclassed her in size.

Siv stepped back toward her horse, and Eris watched with growing interest as the woman unraveled leather goods from the bag. More gifts? The dark woman wondered for a moment what Siv's aim was -- did she honestly profess such dedication to her pack as to shower her leader with such frequent gifts, or was she playing some deeper game? The hybrid's contemplations disappeared, however, as the silver-tinged woman introduced each gift with a name differing from her own. A smile crept across the shadow-furred woman's face, and she reached forward to take the gifts when the last was offered.

My daughters will surely love them, the coyote cooed, stepping back toward her home. Would you come in? the coyote invited casually. She didn't know whether Siv's horse could be trusted to wander the ruins or whether they must stand outside near it. If you require someone to tend your horse, Molcaxitl may do. She's not so good with the beasts, but she can manage, perhaps, she said, rolling her shoulder in a shrug with the suggestion. Molcaxitl did as she was asked, regardless of her skill with the job at hand.
