Word Count → 261 :: OOC

Judging by the canine’s friendly response, Cerberus assumed it safe to take a seat near the male. He eyed the instrument in his hands curiously, all the while wondering if he’d ever learn to play something like that. He’d never even touched an instrument in his life, but he’d always loved listening to those who knew how to play, and, needless to say, he envied them.

He nodded at the male’s words, mulling them over in his own mind. It was a nice enough day – the sun was out and it wasn’t too terribly cold. But Cerberus knew well enough that weather alone didn’t always influence one’s mood, as he’d had his fair share of bad days before, especially since his brother’s death. It then became Ceri’s motive to cheer this fellow up. He seemed like a nice enough guy; handsome, talented, perhaps wise. And Cerberus had nowhere to be – he never had anywhere to be – so he deemed it allowable to spend the afternoon with this gent.

It’s a very handsome instrument, he said, his eyes finally meeting those of the other. He smiled reassuringly, and then looked back at the flute. May I see it? he then added, extending an up-turned palm. He wouldn’t be offended if the canine declined; he knew some creatures could be very protective of their treasures. But he was curious, and part of him even hoped that maybe this male might be kind enough to teach him a song. But that was a farfetched hope – he’d be happy enough just to see the flute.
