It was a cold morning with frost on the branches and the grass underfoot. There was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was showing itself over the eastern horizon and sending it's warming rays between the houses and trees of the neighborhood around Jace and Temo's house. The birds were flitting about their business and singing spring songs.
As the sun rose over the neighboring houses, it's rays found Temo busy with preparing fire wood. There were a number of logs in the area that he had sawed into appropriately short lengths for the fireplace and now he was hauling the rounds and splitting them up and stacking onto the wood pile.
As he was chopping and stacking, he thought over some of the projects he was going to work on today. One of them was to get some pieces of siding and replace some cracked ones on the house. He had noticed that some had split on the south side of the house and he was waiting for a nice and dry day to work on it. He even had a can of tar that he had found a while back for sealing up the nails when he was done. There were a couple of other projects that he could get to if there was time after he got the house taken care of.
