(379) oh man. XD

She'd initially had her doubts about the festival. While the idea was original and quite beneficial to the merchant group in charge of the event, Lilin had expected their involvement to stop there and not go any further. Had this been the case, she would have attended a day or two at most- just to help Barrett with his purchases and to obtain a few personal items of her own such as the juvenile bamboo she'd brought home. What kept her coming back were the numerous activities provided, most particularly the last two she'd attended. Meeting a hybrid by the name of Ezekiel, no matter how odd the circumstances might have been at the time, was something she had thoroughly enjoyed. The same applied to her encounter with Saul Stormbringer, a distant relative she found herself quite attached to already.

There weren't many activities left to do; the interesting ones had been attended long ago. With a few left to try, one involving dancing (and there was no way in hell she was going to try that one), the available choices had dwindled down to two. First on the list was self-defense; the kind of knowledge she yearned but definitely lacked. There was something empowering about a woman being able to fend for herself. Despite being one of her last options, this spot's popularity was undeniable. More surprising even was the crowd's variety; males and females alike were either engrossed in the free lessons provided or watching bystanders, much like herself and another woman she did not immediately recognize until she finally looked to her right. For the first time since Ariadne's arrival, the two femmes were alone and facing each other.

"Is brawling another hobby of yours? I mean, aside from screwing people to get free food and shelter?" she quipped with a smug grin. Her statement might have been insulting in nature but her tone was light, amiable even. It resembled the way two males would josh around. If they had one thing in common, it was this. They both came from a world where the men to women ratio was like night and day. Somewhere along the line, Lilin had adapted her personality to fit this reality. Could the same be said about her Cretan housemate?
