Hybrid hadn't treated Nathaniel specially that he had noticed, but then his viewpoint could very well have been biased. As a pup he had loved and revered his father for his awesome power and cunning abilities...it had seemed as if Hybrid had made many enemies and had lived through many battles. He hoped that someday he could be brave like that and fight against wolves who sought to end their way of life in Inferni. It seemed like every other day he caught ear of a coyote having had a run-in with a wolf...and things were almost always told in a negative way. Wolves weren't to be trusted.
He was brought up out of his thoughts as the leader of the hunt spoke to him. He nearly curled up and died on the spot - what reason would she have to be addressing him? Nate wasn't the most social member of the clan, and wasn't sure what he ought to call her. Miss? Ma'am? Would she get offended if he called her either of those things? "Er..Nathaniel. Nathaniel King, Miss. Hybrid's son" He said, to clarify. He did not give his rank, embarrassed by the fact that he had yet to climb the ladder up to a higher position.
The hybrid turned to follow the canine that began to lead them out toward where the herd was located, keeping quiet so as not to give his position away. He knew the basics of hunting and had discussed it with Hybrid when he'd been young...but he wasn't very good at the actual part where he would go to bring the animal out. His timing was usually the thing that got him - he'd jump from the brush before the prey was in range or after they had already noticed him and begun to flee. Hopefully the job that he was assigned wouldn't be too difficult.
