After several long days, the fever subsided. Anatole had not gone to look for aid despite the chastising looks from the Spirit, and tended to the wound as he would any other. It had healed over, but the septic state had left scars that ran diagonally from the high point of bone under his eye. They were thin and multiple, obviously caused by a cat. They no longer burned, but he was ashamed of them and now wished he had heeded the advice of the eagle and seen a healer.

Of course, in Aniwaya, a healer would likely be one of the two idiot coyotes that had caused the whole dilemma in the first place. Agitated by the thought, he let out a huff and felt the fur along his spine bristle. A sharp blow made him wheel, but his ferocity lessened upon seeing the large eagle rise back above him. With a grunt he shook his neck and hurried on. The sooner he managed to find the Councilwoman, the better.

Anatole was an odd member of the Tribe because he did not favor the two-legged form. No one had ever directly approached him about it, but he knew such a thing was uncommon and even considered a lesser shape by the more traditional members. Without a true backing in this place, he had formed a differing opinion and favored what felt natural to him. As a scout, this was doubly true.

For now, though, he had a goal. Pale feet carried him quickly towards the home of his leader, ready to face what he was certain would come.
