It had been boredom and the desire to be truly alone and unburdened by his rank that had driven the dusty coyote to leave his pack lands after many a month. He had ridden out early in the morning on his trustful steed, whom he was just beginning to understand more clearly. Full sentences were now easily given and received, though the diction and content might at times be questionable. Still, her equestrian presence was a welcome one, for she did not judge him as another canine might, and she trusted him fully.
They did not stray too far from Inferni, but the trek was interesting nonetheless, first they had skirted the area between Inferni and Ichika no Ho-en before turning south again to the ocean. It was there that they now strayed, the sun beginning to wane in its journey in the sky. Helotes thanked God for the mild nature of the weather, the snow finally beginning to creep away from all places save the high ones. It meant spring would soon come, and with it, a renewing of things. It was something he desperately need it seemed.
As they trotted along, Helotes smelled someone upon the wind. It was not the first time today he had noticed a scent, but now with the evening fast approaching and their inevitable journey back home, Helotes decided perhaps it would be nice to interact with someone new. It did not take long to find the source, a male coyote hybrid, who was resting amongst the grasses. Helotes approached slowly, not sensing any threat, Hola! He called out, not sure why he had done so in his native tongue. He dismounted Yegua who looked at him with those big, brown eyes, "You go to make a friend?" she muttered in that harsh horse language of hers. Helotes gave her a lopsided smirk, Maybe… He muttered back.
