Ciara couldn’t help herself. Her earth-coloured hues were trained on the very pregnant belly of the woman before her, her ears cupped forward in interest. She always wondered what it would be like to be full of pups, and knew that her time was coming, albeit slowly. She was concerned, however, that the woman’s mate didn’t seem to be anywhere near. Surely the coyote Amy kept chained up couldn’t have been the father.
“Where’s the father of your pups?” she asked, hoping that her question wouldn’t offend the biped before her. The yearling always imagined that she’d have a loving mate when she got pregnant, one that would be super protective of her and barely let her out of his sight. She worried that Amy might have been made pregnant against her will, and she sincerely hoped that wasn’t the case. The girl didn’t want to ask questions that would bring up painful memories for the other.
Carefully, Ciara moved forward and edged her nose near the bump of Amy’s belly. Something told her that being this close might get her swiped at, but she was so curious. Her small, calico coloured form was shaking with excitement at the thought of pups. Surely Amy’s pack was excited for her, too. She had taken the time to analyze the woman’s scent, and couldn't pick up anything she was familiar with. The girl had thought that she was a member of Salsola. That was the only pack she knew that kept slaves.
