The feel of impact was good. Amy smiled as the young wolf danced away, hurt by her blow. Nobody stuck their nose in Amy's business and got away with it. She was a very possessive female, to the point that her slaves had trouble thinking of themselves separate from her even after being sold. The hormones raging through her body exaggerated this feature, making her so much more attached to the pups in her room, making it so much more vital that she would be the one to decide if they lived or died, trying to hold onto their fate with all she had.
The apology soothed her raw nerves some. Amy relaxed slightly, frowning a little when the yearling said this was her first time around someone pregnant. Surely that wasn't the case. Pups were born all the time. She could have seen some pregnant females in her travels, or there was one in the pack, or one who had recently given birth. Amy had forgotten how much more crowded Europe was compared to the rough land she lived in now, how many more there were. I come from Europe. And you? Not that she was particularly interested, but if she told the wolf about herself she'd best be getting something in return.
