Patrol was absolutely the last thing upon his mind at the moment. But it was something that could not be avoided, he had an obligation to help make sure that the pack was safe as well. Every so often he would come across one of those crows that the Rakeeb had trained. The black colored birds would eye him warily as he passed them by and always did so unless he tossed them a chunk of meat to chew on. Those birds were like their trainer, prickly and abrasive and also with a cruel sense of humor. Those shiny beaks were sharp. He didn't blame them really for most members would patrol on the inside of the borders whilst he did the opposite, from the outside looking all the world like someone who was considering trespassing.

His mind wandered as it frequently did back to his daughter. Strike that, his daughters. It seemed fate had decided to throw another curve ball at him, the drunken tryst that he could barely remember with a woman who should have been too old to reproduce had created a child. One child from a litter of three was it? Still he had another child. He had yet to meet the girl and was sort of dreading it. How was Analise going to react to this? What would he tell Aeron. His lip curled as he berated himself, he would tell her the truth of course. Esmerelda was her birth name, a nice name he thought. She would be about 6 or 7 months old by now? Close enough to begin shifting, he wondered if she had managed it yet. A nearby crow let out a lonely sounding caw and the man was returned to himself. He shook his head and ran his hand through his lengthening black hair.
