Set in late afternoon.

The pack wasn't a ridiculous distance away from her own mountainous home, but the trek was still tiring. Naniko liked to think that a canine of her age could handle anything and walk any distance, but even wolves in their prime needed to rest sometimes. The stubborn female had been determined to get there in one go and had left very early in the morning...but now her eyelids were beginning to droop as she padded along on four legs. It was not normal for the Angela to be seen in this form, but she planned to try and visit Shandom and her mother Soran in New Dawn and hoped that being in this form would make her appear more acceptable. The alabaster male had explained about the pack's culture, that they chose to stay in their four legged form more often than not...so she had chosen to try it out. It had been over a year since she had felt the need to shift back down into her lupus form, however, and she was now unused to traveling this way now.

Naniko stopped for a rest at a small creek, leaning down to lap at the water there. Water...wait. She pulled her head back to stare at the hole that had been punched through the ice. The water wasn't very deep here, but it was deep enough for some small creature to have drowned beneath the surface. She scanned the surface of the ice, trying to see through...but could find no one. She took a few more laps at the water before turning to investigate the surrounding area. Still nothing. A flutter of wings above her alerted her to the presence of her owl companion Garrus. The smell of New Dawn grew stronger as she walked along, looking carefully around. When she reached the border area she stopped, looking up at Garrus and then out into the pack territory. She did not want to howl and disturb the pack, so she simply sat down to rest and wait until someone would come along.
