The mention of Gypsy made her laugh softly and shake her head, as she highly doubted that the grumpy paint mare could have cared less about her and the stallion. Being pregnant, she was sure that the horse was even more temperamental than normal, and was sure that Saul had his hands full with her. Thoughts of the horses were tossed from her brain when she felt his thickly muscled arms tighten around her frame, pulling her closer and holding her hard against his chest. Warmth flowed between their bodies, being shared along with the emotions that swirled around, almost palpable.
Once again she dropped her nose to his neck and closed her eyes, simply laying there, holding him and breathing in his scent. She had missed him so much; none of the stupid petty activities had kept her busy and distracted enough while he was gone. Sure, there was the constant upkeep of the horses, but she could do that with her eyes closed in the middle of a snow storm. There was entirely too much time for the girl to think about her man…and not being able to see, hear, smell or feel him had been torture, even if it had been for only a few days.
His continued conversation caused her to look up at him with wide eyes. Trained for her? Wanted to be good enough for her? Growling softly, Dixie nipped at his chin and shook her head. ”You have always been good enough for me…too good for me.” The small fluffy white woman sighed and licked gently at the spot where she’d nipped him, apologizing for the slightly rough treatment. Wayne’s small, protective growl had her shivering and curling into him further. He made her feel small, loved and wanted…perfectly safe and like nothing in the world could touch her when she was in his arms.
