As soon as Jiva had responded to her playbow, Ciara took off at a sprint. Her body was low to the ground, ears flat to make her more aerodynamic as she charged away from him. Her ears could easily pick up the sound of his paws thundering on the ground beneath him, telling her that her pack mate was very close. She yipped playfully, and then whirled only to find him ready to nip her nose. When his fangs came down and grazed her skin, she let out a playful growl. She certainly would have run if this was anyone but a pack member, but she knew that Jiva wouldn’t really hurt her. Instead of bolting, Ciara instead jumped up on her hind legs and wrapped her forepaws over his shoulders, turning her head to bite along his scruff.
Her bites were not hard, but inhibited ones, grazing skin and tugging at fur lightly but nothing more. She knew she didn’t have long before the boy reacted, so as she was leaning down, the girl bit gently into his scruff to hold it. Maybe she’d be able to pin him first, though it was doubtful. Her mother, when she’d played with her, had never let Ciara pin her. The older wolf had always reared up as well and used her size to pin Ciara down, normally scolding her with a few bites to her muzzle afterwards. Ciara didn’t know what Jiva would do, exactly, but she figured she at least had an advantage on him for now. The male was a bit bigger than her, as everyone seemed to be, and Ciara fully expected to lose this playful wrestling match.
That didn’t mean she couldn’t have fun trying!
