She could hardly be bothered to drag herself out of bed in the mornings anymore. She was deranked, demoted, useless basically. And the she wolf spent many hours simply laid upon her bed in lupus form, umoving, not eating, not doing anything. As a result of her undereating she had lost a bit of weight, even in the short few days since her demotion making her even smaller than she already was, her ribs pushing out of her thick fur. The concern of her mate and her children ignored while she stewewd in her own uselessness.
It was one of the rare occurances where she was up and about, although she wasn't far from her house, just outside it in fact. Laid near the horse's paddock as she stared off into the distance. The call caught her attention like nothing else could, her old friend who had once again left to find his mate was now back. Somehow she managed to force herself to her feet. She was dizzy from lack of food and unstable on her feet, wobbling like a newborn calf with her injured left leg pulled high against her underside. As painful and ungainly using this form of moving about was, shifting would make travel even more dofficult, drainer her of energy she didn't have and leaving her higher up from the floor with a more harmful fall when she fell over.
It took her the longest time to reach her old friend and the golden giant stood before her dwarfing her like her traitorous leader did. Not even ten days ago her visage would have been warm, her welcoming loud and happy, her sides, throat and leg uninjured but today, now, she was tired, she could hardly find the will inside to keep standing let alone greet him in any friendly way. Her usually firery eyes were dull, listless, and likewise with her pelt. Her greeting was shallow, just a simple recital of his name,
