Hadley concentrated on what Grace was saying, his ears trained on her instead of in their usual low position. He was used to having only one chance to get something right, and even knowing that wasn't the case anymore old habits died hard. He would do his best to pick this up as rapidly as he could. Helping Grace with the first stall Hadley was surprised when the second stall got involved in the cleaning. Following along he let the second stall get started on, before Grace left him on his own.


He was lucky the horses were calm creatures, letting him handle them without any fuss. Hadley's movements were slower than Grace's sure quick ones, checking and double checking that he was doing it right. Hadley remembered to return the horses to the finished stalls, keeping the barn from becoming crowded with unpacked horses. Grace was moving a lot quicker, and they ended up meeting with Grace having covered far more than the slower hybrid had.
