Extending the Family

She was greeted in a rather more exuberant style than she was used to, as her brother seized her and dragged her to the ground. They toppled down together in a heap, at the exact moment that a knife came whistling out of the open door right at where Caprica's head had been. "Goddamnit!" she cried indignantly as she leaped up in front of Octavius, making her substantial body a barrier between him and whatever crazy woman was inside the lonely cabin. "I dunno, hon, but she's got me to reckon with now." Octavius had said the mysterious woman was hurting: well she'd be hurting more any minute now, Caprica thought savagely and advanced menacingly upon the doorway, hands clenching into fists… and then laughter sounded nearby accompanied by hoofbeats and she turned her head, eyes full of suspicion: what new madness was this? That knife could have killed her or Octavius, and somebody was laughing?

It was Aeron. Caprica got the impression that she knew whose residence this was, and perhaps that was the reason for her order to wait outside. Caprica didn't want to just wait out here to be struck by another oncoming projectile, though. She could handle herself fine, especially if protecting her little brothers was called for. Aeron didn't bother to explain, merely adding another command. Water - why was she being asked for water? She shot a sidelong glance at her brother, a mystified wtf of a look, then shrugged and moved to unhook her full water-skin from Rohan's saddle before following Aeron inside. "What the hell is this," she demanded, but then took in the scene in a moment's glance: the woman with the stomach stretched like a beachball, her face shadowed in pain and unpleasantness. Aeron seemed to be providing a caring role, telling her that throwing things would stress her. Caprica snorted. "It's certainly stressful to be on the receiving end that's for sure." She supposed a delivering female could be excused a little craziness, but this was outrageous behaviour. "Who are you?" she added, not offering the water at once, her expression unfriendly.
