The excitement of the day’s ceremony was making Cadmeia giddy and a little nervous. It was hard to believe that not long ago she had been so alone, and now she was far from it. As much as she wanted to fit in with her new pack, she was still having trouble being social. ”If someone wants to know me, they’ll present themselves.” she thought to herself. Cadmeia didn’t feel confident enough to initiate conversation. She looked on at the crowd, taking everything in. It was a beautiful thing to see everyone coming together like this, interacting with each other and developing relationships. At least, to Cadmeia it was beautiful. She longed for true companionship more than anything else. She knew that these things took time, however, and that hurt. She wanted it now. It was a little bit scary, being part of a pack where you were so different from the rest. Cadmeia wasn’t sure if everybody would be as accepting of her as Hadley had been.

Cadmeia quietly slid back into a corner and watched Adelle. It was hard to admit, but she was very envious of the pup. Today Adelle would be receiving her mentor. Cadmeia not only wanted a mentor, but felt like she needed one. She knew she could do almost anything she set her mind to, but it would be nice to have someone standing by her side every step of the way. She wanted someone who would not only mold her into the best fox she could be but also be her protector of sorts. Couldn’t somebody take care of her now? Cadmeia felt like there was a void inside of her - perhaps a mentor would do the trick. She wasn't sure. Hopefully it would be Hadley to take her in. It was unsettling how attached she was to him already, but he did make her feel safe - it was he who had saved her, shown her what compassion was like. Cadmeia sighed and hung her head low. She knew she was setting herself up to be hurt, but in order to receive love she knew she must first open up and be willing to give it out. Gathering her wits, Cadmeia sniffed the air and set out to find Hadley amidst the crowd. She’d been alone for far too long - she only hoped Hadley would be just as happy to see her.
