Meeting under Moonlight

You'll have to ask Lullaby as to the specifics of why Anita is wearing costume wings >.> /+660

Scraps and flakes of concrete crumbled as Ezequiel hauled himself up the side of the human building. Age and decay had left the previously smooth side cracked and broken, leaving a multitude of handholds for the agile Jackal-Dog to make use of as he scrambled up the building like a spider.

There wasn't any particular reason why was hanging on for dear life to the side of some old, tall human building; boredom maybe, or perhaps simply for enjoyment. Part of the core reason was simply because he could. Ezequiel loved the sense of freedom climbing gave him, relished the feeling of being so high up in the air after living so much of his early life inside a cave.

Scaling the lip of the roof Ezequiel straightened up, gazing upwards to the moon, which hung large and bright above a cloudless sky. Being up this high gave Ezequiel a great view of the large object but he didn’t stay still for long, the chilly night air driving him to keep moving and while being useful for holding things, the bulky cargo shorts he wore kept little more than his upper legs warm. The buildings here were placed fairly close together and powerful legs propelled the small hybrid easily across the gaps as he took off at a run, slowing only when a particularly large downwards drop forced him into a roll to spread the force.

All in all it was a rather enjoyable night that was disturbed when a panicked howl cut through the air, causing Ezequiel to stop stock still as his ears tilted towards the sound, hesitating for a moment before he bolted towards it.

Anita was having a much worse night than her brother. The night was doomed to be less than stellar the moment Ezequiel had took to the rooftops; the timid collie wasn't used to the new terrain enough to feel comfortable wandering around alone but she hadn’t been able to bring herself to ask him to stay behind, knowing as she did how much he enjoyed exploring old human settlements and how long it had been since he'd had the chance.

So Anita had squared her courage and set out to try and make something useful of the night, figuring that moving around a strange city wouldn't be any more intimidating than staying in one place.

It was a cold night and Anita had wrapped up as much as she ever did, little as much help this gave her. The tank top and skirt she wore, both a matching dark blue, were perfectly fine clothing for a hotter climate such as the one she had grown up in but fell rather short of keeping her warm in the Nove Scotian night. Even the costume butterfly wings she was fond of wearing were present n her back, glittering in the moonlight as they utterly and completely failed to provide any warmth at all.

Still, Anita thought while looking over her shoulder at said wings, they were pleasant to look at. The movement of looking at them brought something else into her line of sight, a green object just glinting into view in some reflected night.

Curiously Anita walked over, peering into the odd looking hole in the wall that housed the source of the glint, revealed to be some sort of green gem as she got closer. Anita examined the hole closely but it didn’t look particularly dangerous and any scent about the hole was stale and faint so, hesitantly, she reached in.

Anita knew that she was in trouble as soon as her hand closed against the gem and she tried to pull back. Part of the hole had given way inwards as she reached up but refused to fold back out, trapping her arm in the hole. In her panic Anita completely missed the puzzle sentence above the hole and instead reared her head back, calling out into the night for Ezequiel.
