Trent wondered what she meant with her words. With what she did? How wouldn't she survive long without friends? Trent knew that it was that way for him, but that was because he had a knack of disappearing without a trace when others wanted him to be there or went to get him stuff -- in Alder's case -- or simply never being open enough for anyone to consider him a friend. "With what you do..? What do you mean by that?" He looked at her briefly. Trent wouldn't survive long without friends and yet, here he was, pretty much friendless and yet very much alive. The Court was truly a miracle, indeed.

When Terra continued about him rather than herself, Trent realised that he'd hoped she would've told him that she saw him as a friend, at the least, or maybe more. But there was none of the likes, instead she tried to encourage him to make friends. The advice she shared only half arrived in his brain, preoccupied with Terra's lack of instant compliments and reassurance. And beside that, he didn't think he'd let it shimmer through that he wasn't very good at making friends; all he'd wanted to do was give her a compliment.

His large ears twitched as she mentioned staging rescues and he lifted his eyebrows comically, figuring that it was a joke or something. He had little time to come up with a funny retort, though, since she mentioned being helped back. Blinking, he said, "Uh, sure?" Since he still hadn't a clue that she was injured, he felt a spark of hope that she did consider him at least a friend, and that she wanted him to help her get home because of that, to make him feel a bit more reassured. "The hotel, right?"
