Yaaay lame starter. <3

It had not been simple, but finally the pair of travelers had crossed the river and were heading east once. They trekked between the mountains on the left and the coyote border markings on the right, and while Levent was curious about the strong odor of the fiery clan, he would not risk Wilson’s health. Until they knew of good hiding areas, they would stick together, and he did not want to be caught at the borders with his best friend standing vulnerable at his side—especially as Amy had warned him about Inferni, about its violence and capability. Perhaps that way lay power, too, but Levent was wolf through and through.

The tomcat was glad when they were no longer pressed between coyote and foothills, and his meow of delight rang clear when they approached the edge of a forest. Once again, all the trees were barren and early spring snow blanketed the ground, but he knew it would be a great place for shelter and hunting later. Deer would drop their fawns while rabbits raised their kits and birds hatched their fledglings. It would be nice to lay back and observe them, or eat them if he was hungry enough.

Wilson noticed a movement in the snow that Levent missed, and he wasted no time dropping into a crouch, inching forward step by step, his haunches giving a wiggle before he pounced and killed the creature. He was already purring when the wolf laughed and hunkered down beside him, tugging his tail. “You’re certainly already adapting, arkadaş,” he pointed out, grinning.

The cat whirled around and swatted his hand away before trotting along. He executed another magnificent leap, this time digging his claws into the bark of a slightly slanted old tree. He scrambled up and out onto a branch easily, purring and letting his tail and one leg dangle from the limb.

Levent snorted. Figuring that few would climb the tree to get to the feline, he tossed his backpack up there as well as Wilson ate. He might as well do some exploring, and so he began to jog through the woods.
