Hotaru
Sometimes the light that guides us along our paths, is not something that we can see, but something deep inside of us.

Anger boiled up in the female again as her frustration grew. She wasn't normally so clumsy or careless and her lack of dexterity frightened her. Hotaru hated tripping or running into things that others could easily avoid. It was frightening, her world was scary. A single trip meant a fall that would last a lifetime. Hotaru couldn't see the ground, she couldn't tell how far she would go, and that gap lead to her imagination running wild. There were times when Hotaru feared that she would into eternity. Bumping into things created a similar paranoia, but with a more claustrophobic feeling. However, not in a million years would the blind wolf ever admit her fears to another. Father, she subconsciously turned her fear into anger and Levent was unfortunate enough to be the target of her frustration.

"Nothing is wrong with me!" she spat, her scathing words burned her tongue and made her ears flick back. "What's wrong with you? Why would you stop so suddenly? Are you trying to make fun of me?" Hurt filled the female's words as she fought to bring her anger down to a respectable level. Levent should have known better, she thought. Although she didn't want to be pitied, she at least wanted him to understand her predicament and not do stupid things like stopping suddenly or asking her for directions. Honestly, who would ask a blind wolf for directions?

Frustrated out of her mind Hotaru put her nose to the ground and then raised it high in the air. She wanted to know where they were, but refused to ask Levent. It seemed to her that he knew very little and wouldn't be very helpful. The grey wolf took deep draughts of air, her sensitive nose worked to detect any hint of familiarity in the land. Alas, there was nothing she recognized. They were in a forest, but Hotaru didn't know where. If only she had at least paid attention to surroundings more.
