The sound of sharp little barks reached the fluffy white girl’s ears and her head jerked up, listening closely. Thankfully, she recognized the sound and it didn’t sound scared or stressed. Grinning to herself, Dixie dropped to her hands and knees and let the shift take over her body, a few minutes late she was scampering towards the barking on four paws, in her smallest form. Being so little was both an advantage and a hindrance. Most times she wished that she was bigger, so lifting and doing things would be easier…then other times she was happy for her size, because she was quick and could wiggle out of almost any situation.

Yipping softly to the puppy as she broke through a cluster of snow sprinkled branches, Dixie trotted over and flopped onto the ground, watching as Adelle attacked the snow again and again. Judging by the trail behind the little bundle of fur, she’d been hunting a small creature, most likely a mouse or a vole. You wanna know a trick? Dixie tilted her head at the pup and pulled her lips back in a friendly grin, her curly tail wagging back and forth slowly. If ya get real quiet and kinda lay down near the hole, the little things will sometimes come right back out…than you can pounce on ‘em again!
