Tail wagging she looked over to Dixie. The white dog stepped over, asking if Adelle was hungry. She looked down at her paw again cautiously. What if the mouse escaped when she lifted it? Chances were pretty good that it had died from being squashed so hard, but Adelle wasn't aware that she was unusual in any way, either by size or strength. The mouse was still very much alive in her mind. The praise and affection had Adelle rubbing into the female, made extremely happy. It wasn't often she was told good job, having to work to earn such a thing. When it was said though, it was well and truly meant.

Adelle stuck out her tongue, happily showering Dixie with licks. Looking down again Adelle lifted her paw slowly, expecting to see the mouse make a run for it. To her great surprise it was perfectly still, unmoving. Adelle nudged it with her nose. Still no movement. Tail wagging she grabbed it, shaking it around. Her first kill! It had been an accident, but her first kill! Dropping it Adelle turned to Dixie. Look! Proudly she nudged it over, unaware that Dixie had probably already realized the mouse's fate before she had.
