Dhiate simply tumbled to the ground, curling into himself. His body trembled as he wrapped his arms around himself, struggling to breathe steadily. He felt the need to clean hisself thoroughly, and to go hide in a hole far away. Unfortunately, Dhiate could do neither, so he lay panting.

Dhiate pulled up his knees and rested his head on them, wrapping his arms around his calves. His ears twitched in the only recognition of her voice. How could she do this to him? His breathing began to slow, and he looked up. She lay sprawled in the grass, their clothes strung across the area. To his surprise, he spotted a single bangle amidst the green grass. Dhiate looked at his forearm and noted that one had fallen off of his right arm. Now how had that happened? He leaned over and plucked it out of the grass. He turned it in his hands, entranced in the way it made the light dance. He couldn't look at her.

He wasn't truly mad st Amy, he still longed for her approval. He adored her the way a pup does an older sibling or parent, but he didn't know why. No parent or sibling would force the younger to do something like this. Dhiate gritted his teeth and closed his eyes tightly. "Oh Mamaí, what have I done?" His voice was little more than a whisper, the only word that could possibly be heard by Amy was 'Mamaí' and she wouldn't know what that meant, but Dhiate still worried that she be upset he had uttered the words. How ashamed he felt that he had called upon his mother at a time like this.
