The normally obedient male started struggling against Raoth as he realized what Amy was planning. He looked to her for help, not understanding what kind of help she was trying to give. Suddenly he snapped. Raoth tightened his grip, not moving anymore as he held onto the panicking wolf. Teeth sank into his hand, and he released with a cry. Instantly Amy rose, flying to his side, wondering what had gone wrong. She didn't know his past, couldn't know the trauma. Thinking about his throat it clicked. It had been damaged in a fire. The fear was from that experience, almost dying.
The male was curled up at Raoth's feet. Cruelly the coyote sneered, pleased to see the perfect slave finally crumbling with weakness. His eyes flashed slightly with worry, but he retreated without a sound. I'm sorry. Her words were a bare whisper as she scooped him up, holding his fragile body close as she moved away from the fire. Luckily she'd parked near a stream for easy access. Swiftly she carried him there, entering into the water. Gently she lowered him down, letting him feel the dampness. It's alright, it's okay. You won't be hurt. The fire's gone. This was much worse than she'd feared. Her plan had been simple, not knowing what she'd come across. The result was a nightmare.
