Dhiate's eyes flicked open again. He couldn't sleep. Not after what his mistress had made him do that morning. He shuddered at the memory. He wished he could vow to never touch another woman, but alas, he knew it would not be so. Amy would make him do whatever profited her the most, no matter how he felt.

Dhiate pushed himself up on his elbows. It was a useless fight. He wouldn't sleep for a while yet. As Dhiate rose to his knees, he looked at the wagon beside him almost guiltily. His fellow slave, Raoth, slept soundly on the other side of the wagon. Amy had said he was free to roam so long as he kept the wagon in sight. Before he could talk himself into staying, Dhiate stood up silently and wandered off into the night.

Dhiate simply walked around aimlessly, occasionally looking back to make sure the wagon could be seen. He looked almost ethereal at night. His pristine white fur gleamed in the silver light, and it grew slightly dark at his jaws and throat. The right half of his face vanished in the night as his normally dark brown hair tuned pitch. His black clothing and dark back made it appear as if he were simply half a face, a pair of slender pale arms encased in dark rings, a narrow waist that just barely flared out into a beautiful set of hips, and two dainty feet. The banged jingled slightly as he crossed his arms over his waist, simply staring at the beautiful starlit sky.

Dhiate stopped his wandering in favor of enjoying the soft breeze that toyed with his hair. Unbeknownst to him, only a few yards away lay a male in the grass. Dhiate's scent wafted towards the male and he closed his silver blue eyes. A sweet smile tugged at the corner of his lips. How beautiful was the night.
