A few miles out from CdC territory. Dated to the 17th, midday. WC: 507

Neela's tail thrashed about restlessly behind her as she ran through the trees, heedless of the branches and twigs whipping at her face, none managing to cause enough pain through her thick fur to really register, no destination or purpose in mind, simply running to try and get rid of the energy building up inside her.

The past few days had not been fun for Neela. Neela had spent the days in a restless daze, filled with energy that refused to diminish and a constant feeling, an… itch wasn't entirely correct but it was the best comparison that she could think off. The collie was no yearling and recognised what was happening, but that didn’t make it any less annoying or inconvenient.

Heat. Neela was four years old and well experienced enough to recognise the signals her own body gave but, she was faced with a problem. While some did well at resisting their body's instincts during their heat periods Neela was not one of these people. Fortunately for the majority of her life Neela had had Juilan and there was never much of a problem. Unfortunately Julian was dead and the reprieve that winter had brought was now over, leaving Neela to her first heat without Julian in several years.

This left her in an awkward position; namely that of a self imposed exile, running around the forests south of her home with a near inexhaustible amount of energy. Neela had tried rapidly shifting between her forms but it didn’t seem to work so eventually she had just settled down into her Lupus form and started running, stopping only to hunt and eat.

Neela wasn't sure how far she had been running when a scent caught in her nose, bringing a name to mind; Tony. Neela stopped stock still, a mixture of panic and excitement in her mind, before her nose finally decoded the smell. It was only part of Tony's scent, or more specifically it was just the smell of his pack; the wolf himself didn’t seem to be present.

Consciously Neela was relieved that the male wasn't present, she had no idea how she would react to his presence but she was fairly sure she wouldn’t be happy with it afterwards. Subconsciously she was disappointed. While she couldn't be entirely sure she was fairly sure that Tony would be receptive to any advances made and the younger wolf was exactly what her instincts were crowing at her to find; young, strong, willing…

Neela blinked and shook her head, snorting violently. While she had been wrapped up in her thoughts the collie had started unconsciously following the pack scent, trying to pick out Tony's scent within the myriad of others. Regaining control of herself Neela reversed her direction, padding away from the scent at a forced sedate pace, her state betrayed only by the rapid twitching of her tails and ears and the occasional pants that slipped from her mouth, tongue lolling from her mouth as though she had been running on a hot day.
