The Start of Something New
#1
Fayne had been traveling by herself for about a week. She had left her brothers and sisters to fend for themselves, knowing that she could not be accountable for them when they chose to join a pack. She was confident in all of their abilities, she only hoped they would be able to keep themselves from harm. On Fayne's own travels she had fought off several rogues and sustained a few minor injuries. Her neck bared a slash like wound no bigger than five inches, though it was still fresh and stained her light colored coat. On her right leg, a smile bite mark which she had licked clean. She appeared rugged and tired, her normally spotless coat full of the filth from her travels. Though she fed and watered herself sufficiently, she had kept a fast pace eager to reach pack territories where, once accepted, she could finally relax.

Fayne sniffed the air occasionally hoping she was close to the territory borders. She had to be weary not to cross. She didn't want her new family to think she was rude and potentially be turned down. Fayne had picked up a scent of wolves near by. She was close to the borders. She gave a sigh of relief, this would be the end of her travels if she played her cards right. Fayne rose her head an looked up through the trees. She parted her jaws and let out a long even howl to alert the pack that she had arrived. Now all she had to do was wait for one of the higher ups to come and assess her. To show proper respect she lowered her head and positioned her ears so that they were parallel to her skull. She curled her tail so it was dangling between her hind legs, though not tucked completely underneath her. She was ready to submit herself on a higher level if she needed to, she would do anything to be part of a family again.

As Fayne waited she took in breaths of the air and carefully monitored the sounds of the forest so she would know when a pack member drew near. A small genuine smile shone on her face and her tailed twitched with anticipation. The young wolf was extremely happy to finally be here and hoped with all her heart that the pack would graciously accept her into their ranks. She thought of how life used to be before the virus had started infecting wolves. So happy and care free, no humans hunting their game or encroaching on their land. Her hardships were finally behind her and maybe now she could settle down, find a life mate, and have pups of her own. She was always keen on becoming a mother and the thought tickled her pink. Though she knew she would have to earn the respect of the pack before she even thought of doing these things. She didn't care as long as that was her future. These happy thoughts continued as she stood there waiting patiently.
